K. Morris Trainor's painting presented to Russian President | Print |
Who would go to the chilly north for the winter, and south for the summer? Ask Kathy Trainor, owner of the Morris Trainor Gallery at 17 Ocean Avenue, Kennebunkport.

Trainor is New Jersey ktrainor-flags-magal2native who married a Canadian and has resided in Motreal for the past 35 years, raising a family of three and often coming to visit relatives at Goose Rocks Beach. Her dream was to one day run her own gallery where she would hang her landscapes of Maine and Quebec. Today she is "living her dream" with a gallery that includes not only her own work but the work of other local and international artists. She also represents the popular jewlry line of Lovell Designs,

The Art of Maine is the overall theme in this inviting gallery and features many recognizable locations in the area.

Trainor's most recent project is a series of stylized flags of different states and countries. Her impressionistic versions of them are striking Kathryn Trainorand colorful.
She recently finalized a double flag painting named "Friendly Flags" depicting the American and Russian flags side by side in one frame. This work commemorates the historic summit meeting between President George W. Bush and President Vladimir V. Putin held on July 1-2, 2007 in Kennebunkport.

The painting was brought to Walker's Point, the Bush family summer residence, and presented to Russian President Vladimir V. Putin as a gesture of peace and unity. Kathryn was pleased to know that her painting was so appreciated by both leaders, and received a letter of thanks from former President George Bush senior.

A limited edition of giclée prints of the American flag and the Canadian Maple Leaf flag is featured in the gallery.

The gallery, located 17 Ocen Avenue, near Docksquare, Kennebunkport Maine, is open from May until Christmas Prelude.
