Who is Val Grant?  She’s a free spirit who travels throughout the United States and internationally. She gathers her images reflective of each environment and interprets them using either her camera or brush on canvas to create a moving adventure.

After majoring in art and psychology at Bard College, N.Y., she continued her art training at Montserrat School of Art in New England, where she operates her gallery in Lower Village of Kennebunk, Me. She has won recognition and awards thru exhibitions and circuit shows throughout the east coast. Her Sandstract Series of photographs is currently being exhibited at the Camden Falls Art Gallery, Camden, Maine.

Sand Art - Nature Photography Mother Nature would perhaps entitle these creations "SANDSTRACTS". Her tool being THE OCEAN, and her canvas being THE SAND. These unique sand art images, captured by artist/photographer, Val Grant, were discovered during one of her favorite pastimes; walking the beaches of New England.

Through her creative eye and keen sense of design, the eye of the camera's lens became Val's tool to create this original form of nature photography. From the photographic negative to the fine art of the Giclée print on watercolor paper, these abstract images have been transformed to equal the quality of a fine watercolor painting. The only difference is that the artist is Mother Nature.
