Pam Carter - Morris Trainor Gallery - Kennebunkport Maine

A passion for drawing and painting from an early age, a fine arts degree, and many workshops over the years with internationally recognized master painters have led Canadian artist Pamela Carter to develop her own unique body of work in oils and pastels.

Her prize winning paintings, exhibited and collected across the United States, Canada and in Europe, have been shown at both the National Arts Club and the Salmagundi Club in New York. During the past two years, she has been invited to show her work and demonstrate her techniques at international conventions in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Rouen, France. Pamela has had gallery representation in the Montreal area for many years, notably with Galerie Philippe in Rosemere and it's affliate, Galerie Marie Ancelin in Kamouraska, Quebec where she continues to exhibit with other artists in this gallery devoted exclusively to pastel painting.

More recently, her work has been accepted into the prestigious Galerie Christin of Toronto, Canada and Galerie Philippe in Rosemere, Quebec. Viewers say that it is her ability to capture the illusive qualities of light which draws them repeatedly to her beautiful representations, regardless of subject. Still life, landscape, figurative, or commissioned portraits all glow with the warmth of layers of underpainting, rich colour application, flawless draftsmanship, a dance between the joy of execution and the careful discipline that comes with years of experience.

While painting continues to delight and propel her daily, she finds time to teach where sharing her insights with students gives her great satisfaction, reaping the benefit of her generosity and “joie de vivre”, so evident in her work.

In Maine she is represented by The Morris Trainor Gallery, 17 Ocean Avenue, Kennebunkport (207) 967-5900 • www.morristrainorgallery.com
