Carol Gagnon is a Cape Porpoise, Maine artist. “I love to paint outdoors and am always inspired by the light, color, and emotional feelings that plein air painting provides”. She began her art discipline in 1973 and has studied with Charles Movalli, Dale Ratcliffe, David Millard and Charles Sovek. Gagnon is an Allied ASID interior decorator on Sanibel Island, Florida. She finds the interplay of creating interiors versus creating a painting an important part of her career. Her studio on Sanibel is displayed with acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media. The sea is her greatest influence as well as figures in landscapes and still life. She is a member of Art Guild of the Kennebunks, Maine Women in the Arts, Lexington Art Guild, and Big Arts on Sanibel Island. Her works are in over 300 private collections, and can be seen at her Maine studio at Cape Porpoise from mid May to mid October, and year round at her design studio on Sanibel as well as exhibitions at Maine Women in the Arts and Art Guild of the Kennebunks.
