Watercolor, Acrylic Paintings and Prints

Lorraine Ryan says: "Some People are simply driven to draw and paint what they see around them. I am one of them. I began as a small child and I have been an artist all of my life. My paintings are executed in water colors and acrylics. I have never indulged in abstract intellectual notions of art. I have merely tried to capture the things I enjoy observing, while hoping to share these observations with others."

Lorraine has had a number of one-woman shows in New York and Connecticut, and has received awards in juried exhibitions. Over the years her fine art paintings have been collected in the U.S and the U.K and reproduced in posters and greeting cards, sold worldwide. Some of her paintings are now reproduced in iris giclee, limited edition prints. Most recently she was honored to be juried into the Mystic Seaport's Annual International Marine Art Exhibition.

Most of Lorraine's paintings have been executed in watercolors, but now she says: "I am resuming my work in acrylics as well." Her work ranges from large complex still lifes - to landscapes - to lush florals - to children in informal settings - to coastal/landscapes.
