City: Kittery State: Maine Zip code: 03904 Phone: 207-439-2669 Visit website This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Lisa Reinke is a Barrington (NH)-based artist who focuses on figures and portraits hoping the viewer stops to “consider its splendor and renew faith in all things human.” Inspired by the patterns that occur haphazardly on the faces of people or figures in a crowd, she uses vivid oil color to curve and shape the human image into a stark new reality. Lisa utilizes bright, unusual color combinations in patterned brush strokes and finger painting. Every painting carries Lisa’s signature burst of colors that hold the viewer for further scrutiny. Lisa’s passion for the arts earned her a BFA from Colorado State University and a minor in Art History. Her artistic career followed graphic design which she abandoned for biotechnology before coming full circle and “pulling a Gauguin” to immerse herself in her passion for painting. “I am inspired by the human face…as humans we respond to its image beyond all others. For all its familiarity, we rarely pause to consider the face as a visual form, something more than the recognition of a friend or an interaction with a stranger. Remember the humanity in humanity”. All works are oil on canvas.
