Kathryn Morris Trainor has been living her dream ever since she opened The Morris Trainor Gallery three years ago in Kennebunkport, Maine. She invites you to visit and enjoy the “Art of Maine” at her artist-run gallery located at 17 Ocean Avenue in the heart of Dock Square.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Kathryn grew up on the Jersey shore spending every summer on her family’s boat. She developed an early love and respect for the ocean which is reflected in her marine landscapes. All of her paintings portray a deep regard for nature as well as life’s everyday themes. She has been working as a teacher, graphic artist and pastelist for the past 32 years, and is a founding member and past President of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada. Her work has been exhibited throughout Canada and the U.S., and hangs in many private homes, professional offices and corporate boardrooms. 

This year Kathryn was honored by having a painting chosen by President George Bush Sr. to be given to Russian President Vladimir Putin in commemoration of the summit meeting and visit here in Kennebunkport on July 1-2.

A graduate of William Paterson University in New Jersey, she taught fine arts at White Plains High School in New York for two years before moving to Montreal, Quebec, Canada where she entered the field of Graphic Arts. Her successful career as a Designer, Illustrator and Art Director has seen her client list include such prestigious names as Air Canada, Grand Prix du Canada, AC Championship PGA Tour, National Bank of Canada, Canada Post, Bank of America (MBNA), Imperial Tobacco, Tourism Canada, The World Games-2004, Kawasaki. Kathryn is a member of the Pastel Painters of Maine, the Heart of the Arts organization and the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada.
