City: Kittery State: Maine Zip code: 03904 Phone: 207-439-2669 Visit website This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Dean Diggins is a Kittery (ME)-based artist who moved to Kittery in 1990 from NY City where he had been a professional dancer with the Mattison Trio, a dance group who had appeared in the U.S. Europe, and South America, and had numerous appearances on the Ed Sullivan TV Show. Inspired by the beauty of Maine’s seacoast area, Dean taught himself to draw and paint. His numerous exhibits in the seacoast include solo and group exhibits at Haley Art Gallery as well as four, solo exhibits including those at Kittery Art Association (1997 & 1998), Wentworth- Coolidge Art Center (1999), and Drake Farm in North Hampton, NH (2000). Dean’s paintings have been selected for the Families First Calendar in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2004, and for the 100 Market Street Gallery Portsmouth (NH) in March and September 2001. Dean Diggins was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Dean’s paintings reflect familiar places, neighborhoods and landmarks of the seacoast and beyond, in vibrant colors, whimsical angles and perspectives. Dean also does pen and ink “portraits” based on old photos and dance caricatures. A Conversation With Dean Diggins DVDs are available for sale exclusively at Haley Art Gallery.
